Obama Uses Facebook to Mobilize Support on Campuses
Thousands of voters gathered at George Mason University to hear Barack Obama. What is most remarkable about this event is that it was largely organizaed using Facebook.com (note, PW required to view), the online social network of millions of students across the country.
The Facebook profile was created by a Barack supporter. He laid out an ambitious timetable for growing his list, and has met or exceeded his benchmarks.
As of February 1st, more than 100,000 had signed up as friends. As of today, he has over 200,000. That’s 100,000+ signups in two days. Wow!
