The Brain Can Dance

I just coudn’t resist putting this video up here. When MC Rove hit the stage at the 2007 Radio/Television Correspondents’ Association Dinner. It reminded me of the time I had the Reverend Jerry Falwell and DJ Lil G (of Philadelphia) on the couch for an interview on the DJ’s Roundtable, a program broadcast on Media …

The New Political Multiplier

So Obama got 2.7 million or so views on YouTube since last week compared to second place Hillary’s 78,000 total views. This much we know. Are the numbers fishy? Perhaps. On the other hand, it is possible the 320,000+ members of the One Million Strong for Obama Facebook community each viewed an average of nine Obama videos this week. It is not impossible.

Then again, are there really 320,000 unique members of the One Million Strong group? Technically, we are only allowed one Facebook account per person, so that number has to be real.

Presidential Parody ’08

Here is my first post on TechPresident.com:

I did a quick search on Google for "President 2008" hoping to find a collection of links to the major candidates. After all, some people think the campaign has already started. But instead of finding Hillary, Rudy, Barack, John, and the gang at the top of the free links, I found MyDD, the Polling Report, Walken 2008, and Draft Hillary atop that list, while John, Mitt, and Bill (Richardson) showed up in the sponsored links (Hillary did, too, but not her official site).

Now, while some of you may ask why the official candidate websites don’t rank higher, I am stunned that Walken 2008 ranks third on this list.

Walken.

That’s Christopher Walken.

You might remember him from his 2004 campaign. He didn’t win.

But this is 2008. Move aside Fred Thompson.

Another Week on YouTube’s YouChoose ’08

Hillary Clinton has pulled ahead of John Edwards in views, but Obama still leads the pack. All the candidates on the site have seen big jumps int heir views in the past week (relatively). Kucinich has surged ahead for Biden. Giuliani picked up an additional 10,000 views and Romeny about 7,000. On a side note, …

New Innovations at the US Patent and Trade Office

In 2004, Pete Ashdown invited Utah voters to use a Wiki to collaborate on his policy proposals as part of his bid to unseat Senator Orren Hatch (R-UT). In 2006, Green Media Toolshed launched MediaVolunteer.org to enable tens of thousands of volunteers to collaborate in order to build a comprehensive media contact database. And now, in March 2007, the US Patent and Trade Office (USPTO) is launching its own Wiki to allow the public to do research on patents pending.

Candidate Videos by the Numbers

Let’s leave aside how good these videos are, how well they connect with the voters, how authentic, unscripted, revealing, intimate, or whatever other quality you think they should have. Here are the 2008 Presidential Candidates on YouTube… as gathered on its new feature YouChoose ’08, strictly by the numbers:
